Cook County Works and Bank of America team up for Financial Literacy Workshops in Chicago Heights and Maywood in May
Cook County Works and Bank of America team up for more Financial Literacy Workshops in May. The goal of these workshops is to teach low-income families and individuals the basics of household financial management-setting priorities, determining problem areas, and establishing a practical spending and savings plan. “We’re trying to teach people to do more with less,” said Karin Norrington-Reaves, Director of Cook County Works. The joint effort is another example of the range of services Cook County Works provides to the citizens of Cook County.
The workshops, which began in November 2011, have helped dozens of residents from throughout the west and south suburbs to take advantage of training sessions that cover topics such as employment skills training, financial literacy, budgeting and money management after a financial setback.
