The U.S. Department of Commerce announced that the Chicago region is one of 12 communities nationwide re-designated under the Investing in Manufacturing Communities Partnership (IMCP) initiative.
The new designation for the Chicago Metro Metal Consortium (CMMC) runs until 2018. The Chicago region was first designated in the inaugural round of IMCP in 2014.
At the October 5th meeting of the Cook County Board, the Board, with Toni Preckwinkle , President, approved the attached resolution supporting October as Manufacturing Month.
Celebrating manufacturing throughout our region
We are pleased to participate in the 2016 celebration of Manufacturing Day! Started over five years ago, the event has grown exponentially and includes not only manufacturing firms, but also high school districts, chambers of commerce, small businesses, community colleges, economic development agencies and thousands of others.
